Conflict Minerals

Edge International, a Banner Industries company, is a privately-held Small Business and, as such, is not directly covered by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Conflict Minerals filing requirement per Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

However, as a responsible corporate citizen, and to assist our customers who are covered by the Act, Edge International continues to work with its suppliers to ensure that any of the products containing “Conflict Minerals” – Tantalum, Tin, Tungsten and Gold (3TG) – are purchased from legitimate sources.

The metals that we supply for medical device applications may contain trace elements of “Conflict Minerals,” specifically Tantalum and Tungsten, but they are residual elements, not intentionally added to the product. We, therefore, interpret this to mean that alloys containing such trace elements are contaminants and impurities that do not cause the products supplied to fall under the requirements of the rule.

Furthermore, all relevant suppliers have been sent RMI Conflict Minerals Reporting Templates to complete and return to us. From information provided by our suppliers, these alloying elements are sourced from post-industrial or post-consumer scrap or recycled products that are melted as part of the melting operation to produce new material.

Based on these reports and to the best of our knowledge, our suppliers do not purchase any “Conflict Minerals” directly from smelters.

Edge will continue working with our suppliers to ensure that our products remain conflict-free.
